Engineering Design Capabilities
Niles Steel Tank has been engineering and designing custom pressure vessels since 1898. Our extensive tank building experience is a blend of our historical perspective and knowledge with the most current engineering tools to support the tank design process. Whatever the project, our engineering team uses the latest technology & fabrication methods to build products that meet ASME Codes or other demanding standards.
Our vast experience and knowledge of tank design combined with a culture of dedicated customer service builds lasting relationships with our customers. From the beginning of the design phase through prototype construction to actual tank fabrication and delivery, our engineering team stays personally involved throughout the project.
Niles Steel Tank uses the following processes for the design, analysis and evaluation to meet of our customer’s needs….
- Autodesk Software for 2D drawings, 3D modeling, CFD, and FEA
- ASME computer software for the design calculations of:
- Pressure vessel shell/head
- Nozzles/nozzle reinforcement
- Cones
- Flange
- Tube sheet
- Supports
- Wind/Seismic
- Post weld heat treat evaluation
- WRC-107
- Vacuum and more
Our engineering staff is experienced with project management and can handle products relating to ASME Code Sect. VIII Div. 1, Section IV HLW, Section I Power Boilers and “R” Repairs or Alterations, API 620 & 650 and others. And, our staff will also prepare the necessary paper work for Registration in Canada, if needed.
Our customers rely on our years of engineering experience to guide them through the maze of regulations in pressure vessel design and fabrication. Our engineering staff stays current with the ever-changing ASME code requirements assuring our customers projects will arrive on the jobsite meeting the most current code requirements.
