All of our horizontal tanks are built to order can be customized to your specifications. Fitting changes, flanges, linings and exterior finishes, high pressures are all available but current lead times will apply.

Large Volume Horizontal Bare Water Storage Tank
Standard features:
  • Designed for storage of potable water – All tanks are constructed and certified in accordance with ASME IV, Part HLW for 125 PSI (862 kPa).
  • Ultonium® Glass Lining with Microban® applied to the interior surface of the steel for superior protection against corrosion. Microban® antimicrobial technology helps prevent the growth of bacteria, mold and mildew on the surface of the tank lining.
  • Manways required on all tanks over 36” diameter (reflected in pricing) and are optional on 36” diameter and below.
  • 9″ Saddle Height on all horizontal tanks- Taller saddles are available and allow for easier access to areas under the tank.
  • Lifting Lugs
  • Red oxide primer is standard on all tanks.
  • 5-year limited warranty on steel tank covers tank failure resulting from defects in materials and workmanship.
  • 10-year limited warranty on steel tank with double glass lining covers tank failure resulting from defects in materials and workmanship. Double glass lining is not an inventory item (built upon request).

Designed for storage of potable water up to 180 degrees F (82 degrees C). All tanks are constructed and certified – in accordance with ASME IV, Part HLW for 125 PSI (862 kPa). Niles Steel Tank’s Ultonium® lining is applied to the interior surface of the steel providing a tough wear resistant lining which minimizes the effects of high temperature water. Magnesium anode rods – for protection and longer service life. One 3/4″ Aquastat NPT fittings.

Bare horizontal tanks can also be insulated with our topcoat R-16 spray-on insulation which make the tank suitable for outdoor usage.

As per ASME regulations, all HLW hot water storage tanks over 36″ diameter are required to have a manway. 36″ diameter and below, manways are optional.

  • Designed for storage of potable water up to 180° F (82° C). – All tanks are constructed and certified – in accordance with ASME IV, Part HLW for 125 PSI (862 kPa).
  • Niles Steel Tank’s Ultonium® lining – Applied to the interior surface of the steel providing a tough wear resistant lining which minimizes the effects of high temperature water.
  • Magnesium anode rods – For protection and longer service life.  (optional power anodes available on select sizes)
  • One 3/4″ Aquastat NPT fittings – Located for optimal temperature reading.
  • 9″ Saddle Height – Standard on all horizontal tanks.  Taller saddles are available and allows for easier access to areas under the tank.
  • Lifting Lugs – Standard.
  • Red Oxide Primer – Shop primer is standard on all tanks. Top coat insulation and finish coats are also available.
  • Five year limited warranty on steel tank – Provides warranty protection against tank failure resulting from defects in materials and workmanship.
  • Ten year limited warranty on steel tank (with double glass lining) – provide superior warranty protection against tank failure. Double glass lining is not an inventory item, built upon request.
